We are continuing with our proof of concept, details of which appear in our paper published in the Social Technologies Research Journal 2014 (see link on front page).

We are developing a trial classification scheme in the field of traffic cones, which is a remarkably rich area of technology. For example there are cones that exhibit swarm intelligence and move en masse from one configuration to another, there are cones designed to create downforce from the wind created by a passing car, and cones designed to avoid damage and injury on impact.

Traffic cones are also embraced by art and popular culture: they have a light-hearted side. You may enjoy a documentary video about David Morgan, who holds the Guinness World Record for possessing the largest collection of traffic cones.
